Swan Inn Banton
I love working with architects as they always have a really clear view of what they want photographing. So I literally go to a commercial or residential property with a set list of photos and sometimes even architectural drawings and away I go. Amanda Campbell at A-Cubed Design was kind enough to pass my details onto another architect, this time Bruach Design, who had completely re-designed and redeveloped the Swan Inn in Banton.
Banton is a G** postcode but it’s located 20 miles from the city close to Falkirk. I’ve never been to Banton before but it’s a very small village but with some really lovely residents (at least the few people who I spoke to were great).
The manager at the Swan Inn showed me some photos and told me about the history of the Swan Inn and it went from a local man/rugby type pub with lots of cables hanging from the ceilings, you know, really typical lads pub, to something really modern and really lovely inside.
There was lots of glass in the ceilings bringing in lots of light, so it was super easy to photograph and I also suggested I take some drone photos of the Swan Inn, just so I could give Bruach Design a real portfolio for the property.
The Swan Inn was good fun to photograph. I photographed two public areas; the bar and restaurant, the kitchen for reference, two bathrooms and the entrance area. I also took some exterior photos and the aforementioned drone photos.
