London hotel photographer.
Just a couple days before the country went into Coronavirus lockdown I drove over to St Andrews to photograph a hotel called the Best Western Scores Hotel. The hotel had been owned by a family for roughly ten years but with the passing of the owner the family decided to sell up. So a London based company contacted my and asked me to photograph this hotel with a very specific list of photos. They wanted 10 photos inside the hotel and 10 outside of the area but also with some drone shots.
Interestingly for me the drone was absolutely key for them so thankfully I do have a very good drone for jobs like these. Now for me to photograph just 10 interior properties is very hard and also the manager who I met at the hotel was keen to get some extra photos taken (including the kitchen) but this was perfectly cool for me. So I photographed a meeting room, several bedrooms, a restaurant, a bar, front and rear exteriors of the hotel and drone photos of the hotel from the north and south.
The day I went over was at this point the nicest weather day of the year (since got warmer) and the hotel resides right next to the 18th green of the famous open golf course so from the grassy area in front of the area (public area, nothing to do with the golf course) I took these aerial photos.
It was also really interesting but strange taking photos around St Andrews. The city had gone into lockdown so the streets were virtually empty (yay for photography!) but a lot of sites were closed off including the castle and cathedral so I couldn’t go inside. I was planning on taking some photos from the harbour but it was typically (for a harbour) windy but there were also a lot of people walking around, so I had to give that a miss. Lots more below…
