Scores Hotel St Andrews
Back in March 2020 and literally just a couple days before the Covid-19 lockdown was enforced, I was hired to photograph the Scores Hotel in St Andrews. I’m not entirely sure about the history of the Scores but what I do know is it sits right next to the golf course and the owner is of course a huge golfing fan, so there’s tonnes of golf memorabilia throughout the hotel. What I did learn was the owner was thinking about selling the hotel so a London based agency contacted me and asked that I take a set list of photos as well as some drone photos.
The Scores Hotel is what I imagined it would be, pretty old and very golf related, and this was cool, I really enjoyed photographing the Scores Hotel and the staff who I dealt with were great.
As i’ve written elsewhere and I’m sure you’ll confirm if you’ve ever been to St Andrews, the city is really beautiful, as you’ll see below. The first few photos are some drone panoramas, then there are some hotel specific drone photos. I also had a small wander around the city and took some photos. Sadly the cathedral was closed off but I did get access to the grounds of St Andrews University (I wish in hindsight I took some drone photos in there as well but dared not).
My task was to take around 15-20 photos of the hotel then 15-20 general photos of St Andrews. Naturally I took more than this but the Scores Hotel and St Andrews were a lot of fun to photograph.
