Royal Ettrick Hotel Photography Edinburgh
Royal Ettrick Hotel Photography Edinburgh. Just a week or so ago I was contacted by the proprietor of a really lovely hotel called the Royal Ettrick Hotel which sits in the Merchiston / Colinton area of Edinburgh.
The hotel had just recently undergone a renovation which included the restaurant and bar areas and some of the rooms. The restaurant itself sits within a large conservatory and it’s a really lovely space with really great light.
Before I do any shoots I always recee the area and the building/location from the outside at least and so I drove past the hotel a few days before the shoot and could see it had tonnes of available light and studio lights wouldn’t be necessary for the shoot. This was great because although studio lights are necessary in some venues (for example Fonab Castle, which while lovely was quite dark) they can be a real pain in the backside lugging up and down stairs.
I asked Jim, the owner, how he found me and he said he found photos from a shoot I did at Le Monde which he really loved. I’ve done a couple shoots for Le Monde, one professionally with lights and tripods, and the other with Oyster/Tripadvisor. Le Monde has really stunning looking rooms but they are very modern so completely different to the rooms in the Royal Ettrick hotel.
So here are some photos from the Royal Ettrick Hotel. I focused more on space but there are some closer up shots and they asked for shots of the bars straight on.
Coming up I’ve got all kinds of shoots to share here. I’ve got property shoots, more weddings, food, some pr photos and Christmas is almost upon us so there are tonnes of events happening in Edinburgh which I’m planning on sharing.
