This is one of those jobs that we got really excited about. We were contacted several months ago about photographing a holiday home in a place called Shandon, which is about 1 hour west of Glasgow and close to Helensburgh and Loch Lomond (roughly 15 minutes from the latter).
The first thing that excited us was photographing a house that’s in the countryside (well, seaside) and I know that part of Scotland, especially when the weather is nice, is really beautiful. We initially discussed taking photos around 2 months ago but on the day we originally planned the weather was rubbish so we agreed to wait until roughly May to photograph his house. This was partly because the house was fully booked out in April but also to allow spring to happen and all the trees to bloom.
The other thing that excited me was the prospect of getting the drone out to do some aerial photos and videos around the property. Sadly the drone decided to play up towards the end of the shoot (more about this below) so I may end up going back to do more coverage but it was definitely worth bringing.
The house, Rosemount Cottage (not my photos on the website as of 28/5/19), was absolutely delightful. A large space with a massive garden and the surrounding area was lovely. It’s a four bedroom property with a large large and a large kitchen. Being my first time over there it was difficult to plan where to fly the drone along the coast (very windy that day plus the drone was being weird) and it was already pretty late and I had to get back to Edinburgh but I’ll go back soon.
