London property photographer. Back in May 2021 I travelled to the Scottish Highlands for the first time (despite living in Scotland, at the time, for 13 years) where I photographed two hotels, the Onich and the Morar Hotel which I have yet to blog about but will do so in due course. Both hotels were cool but the lasting experience was seeing the local area which was really beautiful.
Fast forward a few months, I was asked by Clockwork Marketing if I could take photos for a wedding brochure for Kilcamb Lodge. Another first this year was catching a ferry with my car, something I’ve never done before, and I did this twice, once to photograph this property in Dunoon, and the second to visit Kilcamb Lodge. Interestingly for me (I know, I’m boring!), the ferry to go to Kilcamb Lodge is just a couple miles down the road from the Onich Hotel so I was able to drive the stunning route that takes you past Glencoe. Seriously guys, if you’re able to go to Glencoe and haven’t done so before, go, in the right weather it’s absolutely breathtaking!
But back to Kilcamb Lodge, I believe the hotel had been bought in the last couple years and I was asked to take some photos of several rooms, a couple bathrooms, a wedding reception/dinner room as well as a number of external photos. Of course travelling to the Highlands I offered to do some drone photos, which I’ve had great feedback for.
The rooms were all cool, very Scottish Highland hotel but the highlight was the food. I rarely photograph food nowadays (I used to photograph a lot over at my other website Chris Radley Photography (link to food here) but I haven’t promoted food photography in years), but Clockwork asked me to photograph a number of dishes and wow, inredible. I’m indifferent about fine dining food, I can eat it but I’m equally happy to eat KFC (call me common!) but their food was beautiful to look at but they kindly let me try some delicious and they were absolutely delicious (strong flavours, not too sweet etc, perfectly seasoned).
I would absolutely love to photograph a wedding at Kilcamb Lodge but I whole-heartedly recommend visiting. Food amazing, venue lovely, staff super friendly, 10 out of 10 in my books.
As mentioned this was photographed in Scotland but I have now moved to London. if you’re looking for a London property photographer, whether it be for photos, videos, floor plans, drone shots, VR tours, or a combination of some or all, please contact me here.
