Crown Hotel Berwick Upon Tweed
A completely different to my usual kind of work job today but really fun. I was hired to photograph the Crown Hotel & Restaurant in Berwick-Upon-Tweed. The hotel came under new management earlier this year, in fact right before lockdown, but with everything that’s happened and time needed to refurbish the hotel the management decided now was time to update their photo portfolio.
There’s a couple things they wanted, the first was photos of the bedrooms and this took two trips due to bookings in the hotels. They also wanted photos of the bar and restaurant areas as well as food photos. In the past I’ve photographed a lot of food through my other photo business, Chris Radley Photography, and I do love pub/hotel style food. I was offered food but I very politely declined, not because I didn’t want to eat the food, but because I really wanted to get the job done for reasons below.
So two trips, lots of photos and it was really great chatting to the person who booked me. Monica is from Taiwan and of course my wife is from Taiwan, so we had lots of talk about Taiwan and Marion’s family also owns a couple restaurants in Edinburgh which includes Kanpai. Admittedly I haven’t been to Kanpai in a few years but I visited Kanpai a few times just after it opened and the food is/was fantastic (providing of course you like Japanese food, which I do!).
I also mentioned above about being really busy. Work is suddenly picking up and I’ve photographed a few weddings, a good few properties, I’m busy working on various projects for my wife’s business and my daughter appears to be a tennis prodigy, so we’ve been practicing/coaching loads and she’s done a couple competitions and has more coming up. It’s all good fun though!
Hope you like the photos below and if you want me to photograph your business/property you can contact me via the contact page on this website.
