Carlton Terrace Edinburgh Airbnb
We’ve photographed a few properties around Carlton Terrace and it’s a really interesting area to photograph for a couple reasons. First of all the location, it sites at the east side of Calton Hill so it’s almost dead central Edinburgh.
Secondly each flat is very different, some are very large, some less so, but all are a very impressive size for central Edinburgh.
Third the history of Carlton Terrace is really fascinating. It was originally designed in the 1820s and each residence was designed as a townhouse with an average of three servants. In the 1900s many of the buildings were turned into hotels and towards the end of the 20th century several properties were used to house nursing students and one property was used as an art gallery.
Now we’re in the 2000’s every single property is now residential and this is a good example of a really nice property. This is a basement flat but it’s clear the owner has made an effort to make it really nice. Ironically I photographed the neighbouring apartment within a couple months which was equally nice but completely different.
