Airbnb photographer London. One of my all time favourite and most annoying in equal measure properties was this fabulous one bedroom Airbnb that resides alongside Calton Hill in Edinburgh. This was one of my favourite properties for a couple reasons, first of all it looks amazing inside, I really really like how it has been decorated and secondly the owner of the property is an absolutely lovely person.
I photographed this for an Airbnb property management company and the idea was for me to go there alone but when I got there the owner was putting up decorations in his bedroom, which naturally I offered and did help with.
The annoying part about this property was the extremely stuck up neighbours. I was moaned at by locals with questions like “I trust I won’t be in the photos”, even though I paused taking photos, but this really sums up Edinburgh. It’s almost always cold and the people can be extremely cold and stuck up.
A little history about this building, which I found out from the owner and found fascinating, this building was originally designed in the 1820s and each residence was designed as a townhouse with an average of three servants. In the 1900s many of the buildings were turned into hotels and towards the end of the 20th century several properties were used to house nursing students and one property was used as an art gallery. Today most of the properties are privately owned with a few Airbnb properties scattered around.
At the end of the road is a large hotel and a Michelin starred restaurant (never been) and at the end of the road, turn left, walk 5 minutes and you’re at the end of Princes Street, so it’s in a great location.
